Okay, after many requests, I have posted my “secret recipe” ~ Enjoy!
Secret Recipe Clam Dip
Prep Time Approx: 20 mins
1- 8oz pkg Regular Cream Cheese (softened)
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup REAL Mayonnaise
1 small can Gorton’s Chopped Clams (save juice from can in seperate container)
1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions
1/2 teas. Worcestershire
1/2 teas. Lemon juice
*optional: finely chopped red bell peppers- to taste
In large mixing bowl, mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream and Mayo, adding a little clam juice at a time, until smooth and creamy.
Add the whole can of chopped clams *optional, you can slice the clams into smaller pieces if desired.
Next, add green onions, worc sauce, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Now you may want to season to taste, by adding a dash of Seasoning salt & pepper *be light on the salt, as this dish “sets” it will become stronger in flavor!
Can be served right away, but I recommend covering with plastic wrap and refrigerating, for at least 30 min.
Yield: approx. 10-12 (1/4cup) servings
*Recommended chips to serve with this dip: any (thick) potato chips- flavors that go well with it are sour cream & onion, sour cream & cheddar, plain, and Baked Lays are good also.
*My kids decided they like my dip spread over Ritz crackers and Triskets as well…
