Cascal Natural Soda
Cascal soda is a naturally fermented drink, that brings to mind a nice cool, crisp glass of wine! This drink will change the way you think about soda! It is complex yet has a refreshingly light and bubbly taste. The flavors range from more delicate to more robust and are the perfect complement to a meal or as a stand-alone refreshment.
Flavors:
Cascal sodas come in five different flavors : Crisp White, Ripe Rouge, Fresh Tropical, Bright Citrus and Berry Cassis.
Crisp White
with notes of Pear, Apricot and Magnolia..
On first taste, it reminds me of Sparkling cider- with more of a Pear flavor to it. It is a nice refreshing, “clean” flavor.
Ripe Rouge
with notes of Cherry, Rose and Chocolate
This one is very robust in flavor- I taste a hint of the cherry and chocolate, but the Rose comes through the strongest.
Fresh Tropical
with notes of Mango, Jasmine and Kaffir Lime
A definite favorite in my family, everyone raved about this one. A light fruity flavor, with thirst-quenching appeal.. I would love to drink this one on a hot summer day.
Bright Citrus
with notes of Lemongrass, Tangerine and Pineapple
The first thing this drink brings to mind is a light & sparkling Iced Tea. It has an herbal quality to it and is a little different, but also refreshing. My daughter, who loves tea- really took to this one.
Berry Cassis
with notes of Black Currant, Tangerine and Lemon
A bit stronger than the others, and tastes a little like a good quality Grape soda with a twist of lemon. Again- very different & bold, but tasty! The kids would be more apt to drink this one.
With 5 refreshing flavors you’re sure to discover your favorite. This is a soda definitely meant for adults. For kids? Probably not, I don’t think they would appreciate the fine, sophisticated flavor. Teens? I had mixed reviews from mine.. but ultimately, they liked most of them. The adults I had “taste test” liked all the drinks, but had a definite favorite!
Of all the different flavors, I seem to keep going back to the Fresh Tropical. I love the peach/mango tropical flavor. Its like having a refreshing peach wine cooler, without the alcohol.
Nutritional Value
The best part about these sodas, are flavored with natural fruit juices with no additional sugar added and are gluten free. Each can has only between 60-80 calories, depending on the flavor and between 15-18 carbohydrates. I can drink one of these and not feel guilty!
