Today I had lunch with an old friend at the new Gourmet Restaurant in town. I had such a good experience that I decided to write a review on it…

Sage Restaurant, Yakima Washington
“From the breathtaking view of the Cascades, to the silky swirl of a Yakima Valley wine in the glass, to the simple, innovative cuisine created by Chef/Owner Jeff Euteneier, Sage Restaurant and Wine Bar is the quintessential Washington wine country culinary experience. They are the epicenter of Central Washington’s local, sustainable food and wine culture..”

This Fine Gourmet restaurant offers something for everyone, from Lobster Canneloni and Lamb Osso Bucco to Dad’s Spaghetti and New York Steak.

For dessert there are choices from a wonderful rich Cheesecake to Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee

And for lunch you can go all out with the Lemon Chicken Piccata or just keep it simple with the soup, salad & sandwich special..

They also offer Catering and Private Party Services. I would recommend this restaurant for anything from a casual lunch to a company meeting. This is the place to go, if you really want to impress your clients… or even your mother-in-law….

Here is my Personal Review of this Restaurant:

Atmosphere
Nice quiet, cozy and ambient atmosphere with upscale decor- but I did not feel uncomfortable or too “dressed down” in jeans and a sweater.  The building itself is unique in style, with great architectural features, and a little reminiscent of Upscale Seattle..

Service
We were promptly greeted and seated, provided beverages and a bread basket. Great, friendly and fast service. The waitress was polite, timely and courteous.

Cost
I was very surprised at the low cost for a “gourmet” restaurant, and was expecting it to be much more expensive. My lunch was $6.95 for the salad and sandwich combo.. I would say the price is comparable to Olive Garden, but the food was worth so much more!

Meal
The meal I had was very good- and unique (even for a turkey sandwich). I had such a hard time choosing, that I think I will have to go back for dinner and try the Lobster Canneloni ($22).

Cleanliness
Immpecable. you could literally eat off the table..or floors… but I would recommend a plate anyway..

Rating
Excellent! This restaurant gets 5 stars from me and I would definitley recommend it to anyone. You can be sure I will be eating there again!
If you live in or around Yakima, or are just visiting- this restaurant is a must on your “to visit  list”.
